New Delhi, April 8 -- Multiple strikes targeted Iran's civil and critical infrastructure as the US deadline for Tehran to reach a deal expired. The US military conducted attacks on military targets on Kharg Island, Iran's main oil export terminal, without affecting oil infrastructure. Strikes also hit rail and road bridges, Khorramabad Airport, a petrochemical plant, and power transmission lines.

Deputy Governor Morteza Heydari said a key bridge near Qom, south of Tehran, was hit by American and Israeli projectiles, prompting the closure of a major northern highway. Two people were killed in an attack on a rail bridge in central Iran.
