New Delhi, Sept. 5 -- U.S. President Donald Trump's envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, are headed to Moscow and then Kyiv as part of a renewed diplomatic to push for a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine.

Speaking to reporters on September 4, President Trump said the envoys are carrying a concrete proposal aimed at ending the Russia-Ukraine war which is now in its fifth year, though he has not publicly disclosed details of the plan.

Though, the Trump administration's attempts to settle the conflict in Ukraine have largely come to nothing, and negotiations stalled out in recent months.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that the U.S. negotiators would visit Ukraine on September 6 after visiting Moscow.
