Spain court bans PM's brother over public job case
New Delhi, July 15 -- A Spanish court on Tuesday banned Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez's brother, David Sanchez, from holding public office for nine years after convicting him in a case linked to the creation of a public-sector job.
The court in Badajoz found David Sanchez guilty of administrative misconduct for helping secure a position allegedly tailored for him.
The court said the role of coordinator of music conservatories in Spain's Badajoz province was "neither necessary nor urgent" and had been created to serve the recipient's private interest rather than public interest.
The ruling also imposed a nine-year ban on holding public office and exercising voting rights.
