New Delhi, July 29 -- In the foreign exchange market, the rupee today depreciated by 14 paise to settle at 86 rupees and 66 paise against the US dollar, amid month-end dollar demand from importers and a negative trend in the domestic equity markets.
The dollar index, which indicates US dollar's strength against a basket of six other leading currencies, was trading at 98.24 in intra-day trade.
