New Delhi, April 29 -- The voting is underway today in the second and final phase of the West Bengal state assembly elections. Across seven districts, 142 constituencies are going to the polls under tight security. It will continue until 6 p.m. More than 3 crore 20 lakh voters are expected to decide the fate of 1,448 candidates, including 220 women.

There are 41,001 polling stations in total. Of these, 8,845 are managed by women, and 13 are operated by specially-abled persons. Authorities have identified 4,388 booths as highly sensitive. Extra cameras and security forces are deployed at these locations.
