New Delhi, Oct. 9 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi has welcomed the new round of GST reforms approved by the GST Council today. In a social media post, the Prime Minister said that the Council's recommendations on the removal of arrest provisions, greater decriminalisation and simpler procedures will have a very positive impact. Mr Modi said that the focus is on faster decisions, lower compliance costs, automated refunds and trust-based administration. He added that these reforms are in line with constant efforts of the Government to make GST more efficient, transparent and citizen-friendly.
