New Delhi, March 8 -- Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla flagged off an all-women bike rally organised at Connaught Place in New Delhi on the occasion of International Women's Day. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta was also present at the event.

Addressing the gathering, Om Birla highlighted the role of women in nation-building. He said that from the freedom movement to the creation of modern India, women have provided strong leadership in every field. He said that today Indian women are leading from Panchayats to Parliament and are becoming a strong foundation for the country's development. He added that Indian women are no less than anyone and are setting new records in every field.
