India Monitors Ebola Situation, No Cases Reported
New Delhi, May 28 -- India's Health Ministry said it is closely monitoring the evolving Ebola Virus Disease situation in view of recent outbreaks reported in parts of Africa.
One person with recent travel history from Uganda was isolated at Bengaluru's Epidemic Diseases Hospital after reporting mild body ache.
However, laboratory testing at the National Institute of Virology returned negative for Ebola Virus Disease. The government said no Ebola case has been reported in India so far.
Screening and surveillance measures continue at all designated points of entry, while authorities have urged citizens not to panic and spread misinformation.
