New Delhi, July 21 -- In the wake of incessant rainfall triggering devastating landslides, severe flash floods and widespread waterlogging across the State, the Nagaland Government has directed all District Disaster Management Authorities (DDMAs) to remain on high alert and closely monitor the evolving situation by activating their respective District Emergency Operations Centres (DEOCs).

The Government instructed DDMAs to immediately initiate emergency measures, with the highest priority being the protection of lives and public safety.

Authorities have been asked to evacuate residents from severely waterlogged, low-lying and landslide-prone areas, particularly unstable embankments and riverbanks.
