New Delhi, Nov. 4 -- Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has successfully test-fired an indigenous Pralay quasi-ballistic missile from the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur, off the Odisha coast.

The missile was launched from Launch Complex-Three yesterday. It successfully engaged two simulated targets at a reported distance of around 500 kilometers.

As a safety precaution, authorities evacuated more than 2,500 people from nearby villages before the test. The Pralay missile is capable of carrying different types of warheads and has a reported strike range of up to 500 kilometers.
