New Delhi, Sept. 18 -- India's Abhishek Sharma has created history by smashing the fastest T20 International century by an Indian batter.

The 26-year-old hit a stunning 100 runs off just 30 balls against Afghanistan in Delhi on Thursday. He finished with 108 runs off 34 balls, including nine fours and 11 sixes. His century broke Rohit Sharma's previous Indian record of a 35-ball hundred, scored against Sri Lanka in 2017.

Abhishek's explosive innings helped India post 221 for 7. Afghanistan were then bowled out for just 94 in 14.1 overs, as India won the match by 127 runs.
