New Delhi, Feb. 28 -- Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has announced that March 2 will mark a significant day for the daughters and women of the national capital, with the launch of several major women-centric welfare initiatives. The programmes will be inaugurated in the august presence of President Droupadi Murmu.

Under the "Meri Punji, Mera Adhikar" scheme, a financial assistance package of Rs.100 crore will be directly transferred to the bank accounts of 40,642 girl beneficiaries. The initiative aims to promote financial security and empowerment among young girls in Delhi.

In a major push for women's mobility, the government will also launch the Saheli Pink Smart Card, enabling free bus travel for women across the city. The move is ...
