New Delhi, April 21 -- Vice President of India C. P. Radhakrishnan visited houses built under the Government of India-assisted Indian Housing Project (Phase III) at Liddlesdale Estate in Ragala, Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka, where he interacted with beneficiaries, particularly members of the Indian-origin Tamil community.
During the visit, he expressed satisfaction at meeting the residents and reiterated that India remains deeply committed to the welfare of Tamil people in Sri Lanka. He highlighted that India has already facilitated the construction of 50,000 houses for Tamil families across the Northern and Eastern provinces, as well as for Indian-origin Tamils in plantation regions.
