New Delhi, May 1 -- Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta flagged off a special train carrying 1,300 pilgrims from Delhi to the Somnath Temple as part of the 'Somnath Swabhiman Parv-Somnath Yatra'.

The Chief Minister said the yatra reflects the spirit of unbroken faith, cultural revival, and national pride associated with Somnath. She described the initiative as a significant step in strengthening the connection between people and India's civilisational heritage.

Highlighting the broader vision, she said the programme draws inspiration from Prime Minister Narendra Modi's efforts to connect India's cultural consciousness with the masses, adding that such initiatives help link people to their roots while moving toward the future.
