New Delhi, May 1 -- Defence Minister Rajnath Singh held extensive talks with his Italian counterpart Guido Crosetto in New Delhi, covering a wide range of regional and global issues, including the current situation in West Asia.

The two leaders discussed avenues to further strengthen mutually beneficial defence industrial cooperation, aligning India's Atmanirbhar Bharat programme with Italy's defence cooperation initiatives.

During the meeting, both sides also exchanged a Bilateral Military Cooperation Plan (MCP) for 2026-27, outlining future military engagements between the armed forces of the two countries.
