New Delhi, Aug. 25 -- Prince Harry is stepping down as a trustee of African Parks, a nonprofit organization that manages protected areas in partnership with authorities in 13 countries from Chad to Zimbabwe.

Harry, who last week announced he and his family were returning to live in the U.K., left the board of trustees after 10 years of service to the organization, a spokesperson for prince confirmed on Monday.

African Parks said in a statement dated Aug. 19 that the prince's departure was part of a "governance refresh" in which a Kenyan Supreme Court justice and the president of AGRA, which helps small farmers in Africa, will join the board. The changes take effect Sept. 30.
