New Delhi, Aug. 25 -- India has invited Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman for a bilateral visit as well as to attend the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi on September 12-13, 2026, the Ministry of External Affairs said.

The MEA said the invitation for a bilateral visit had been extended earlier, while Rahman has also been invited to India for the BRICS Summit. It said further details regarding the invitations would be shared when available.

The announcement came a day after Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Dinesh Trivedi called on Rahman on August 10.
