New Delhi, May 20 -- The Municipal Corporation of Delhi conducted a joint enforcement drive in Shahdara North Zone as part of its ongoing campaign against polluting industrial units operating in non-conforming areas.

The action was carried out in coordination with Delhi Police, the Delhi Pollution Control Committee and BSES.

During the drive, four polluting units were sealed in Ward No. 229, Brahampuri. According to MCD, the units were engaged in activities such as metal polishing, cutting and related operations that were contributing to air and water pollution in the locality.

The civic body said that with the latest action, the total number of polluting units sealed in the area has risen to 14.
