New Delhi, March 25 -- India has extended support to Sierra Leone by sending 1,000 metric tons of rice to aid the country's school midday meal programme, reaffirming its commitment to Global South cooperation.

The assistance, announced by Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, is aimed at supporting nutritional needs of schoolchildren in Sierra Leone while strengthening bilateral ties.

The move reflects India's broader strategy of enhancing partnerships with countries in the Global South and contributing towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
