New Delhi, Aug. 25 -- India called upon the international community to hold Pakistan accountable for alleged human-rights violations in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and elsewhere in Pakistan.

Addressing a media briefing, the spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA),gave a stronger response, saying large-scale protests had taken place in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and alleging that public discontent had been met with "bullets and blackouts" as well as repression. It said more than 90 people had been killed and many others injured, and called upon the international community to take note and hold Pakistan responsible.
