New Delhi, May 9 -- Delhi Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa announced the launch of the Delhi Pollution Control Committee's (DPCC) 'Road Pollution Control' programme aimed at improving air quality in the national capital under the leadership of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.
Under the programme, around 18,000 km of roads across Delhi will be monitored every month through real-time tracking of 11 categories of pollution sources, including road dust, garbage accumulation and open biomass burning, along with other pollution hotspots.
The government has deployed 13 dedicated field surveyors in each district who will conduct daily road inspections and register geo-tagged complaints directly through the MCD-311 app.
