Delhi to upgrade over 270 km of major roads under Rs.657-crore project
New Delhi, June 27 -- The Delhi government has announced a major road infrastructure upgrade under which more than 270 kilometres of major roads across the city will be improved at a cost of over Rs.657 crore.
The project, being implemented under the leadership of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, introduces a zone-wise composite tender system for the first time. The new mechanism is aimed at ensuring that road construction, maintenance and pothole repairs are carried out simultaneously in a time-bound manner.
