New Delhi, Feb. 27 -- Delhi Industries Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa announced that the Delhi Khadi and Village Industries Board has passed a proposal to implement the "Delhi Khadi Skill Development Scheme." The initiative aims to benefit more than 16,000 artisans across Delhi by providing structured skill training, financial assistance, free tool kits, and access to digital marketplaces.
He described it as the first comprehensive skilling programme in the 43-year history of the Delhi Khadi Board to be implemented under its statutory mandate. The scheme is designed not only to upgrade traditional skills but also to integrate artisans into modern market systems.
