New Delhi, May 23 -- Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has announced major relief measures under the revised Infrastructure Fund Charges (IFC) policy, making house construction and development activities in the capital more affordable, transparent and citizen-friendly. The decision is expected to provide significant financial relief to the middle class, small families, religious institutions and residential colonies.

Under the revised policy, water and sewer infrastructure charges will now be determined on the basis of actual water requirement instead of the entire premises area. The government has also clarified that IFC will be applicable only on new construction or additional construction.
