New Delhi, Nov. 6 -- Gupta said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana was opening a new chapter in energy self-reliance. She said that taking forward this initiative, the Delhi government was providing free installation of rooftop solar systems of up to 3 kilowatts (kW) and offering subsidies of up to Rs.1.56 lakh for systems with higher capacities.

The Chief Minister said that the government's objective was to transform every rooftop in Delhi into a source of clean energy, provide relief to households through reduced electricity bills and establish the national capital as a leader in solar energy.

Union Minister Pralhad Joshi was also present on the occasion.
