New Delhi, March 31 -- Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta paid tribute to Swami Shraddhanand at Chandni Chowk Town Hall, marking the historic significance of March 30, 1919, in India's freedom struggle.
Recalling the events of the day, Gupta highlighted that the protest against the Rowlatt Act saw unarmed Indians being fired upon by the British administration near Town Hall in Chandni Chowk, leading to the martyrdom of hundreds. The demonstration was led by Swami Shraddhanand, a prominent Arya Samaj leader and founder of Gurukul Kangri University.
