New Delhi, Sept. 2 -- The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has alleged a rice scam in Delhi and demanded that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conduct an impartial investigation into the alleged role of Delhi minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa.

Delhi AAP president Saurabh Bharadwaj said the CBI has registered an FIR in the alleged rice scam, which he claimed had been exposed by AAP a few days ago.

Bharadwaj alleged that nearly 50,000 metric tonnes of subsidised ration rice meant for Delhi's poor was routed through the Food Corporation of India (FCI) to a company in Assam and subsequently sold at high prices to a private company in Haryana.
