New Delhi, April 10 -- Polling for the General Elections to the Legislative Assemblies of Assam, Kerala and Puducherry, along with bye-elections in four Assembly Constituencies across Karnataka, Nagaland and Tripura, was conducted peacefully with strong voter participation.
Assam recorded a turnout of 85.38%, Kerala 78.03%, and Puducherry registered the highest participation at 89.83%. In the bye-elections, Dharmanagar constituency in Tripura recorded 80.04% turnout. Assam and Puducherry surpassed their previous highest-ever voter turnout figures, marking a significant increase in electoral participation.
