New Delhi, Aug. 25 -- The corporate obsession with metrics and dashboards might be quietly killing your company's drive. While highly structured organisations offer comfortable predictability, Zoho CEO Sridhar Vembu argued that they often breed a passive, "wait for instructions from the top" culture.

In these environments, Vembu said, an organisation's survival hinges on one fragile dependency: the C-suite never making a wrong turn. If top executives fail to set the exact right course, a perfectly metric-driven company will simply march efficiently into a dead end, completely lost, he noted.
