New Delhi, May 11 -- Losing weight is often seen as the clearest sign of improved health in urban India. The assumption is simple: if the number on the scale drops and clothes fit better, health must have improved, too. However, doctors are increasingly seeing a different reality: patients who lose weight but continue to struggle with metabolic issues, hormonal imbalances, or persistent exhaustion.
Experts say this is due to a crucial misconception: weight loss and metabolic health are not the same thing.
