Who is Vidarsha K Vinod? Keralam's first female shooter to win a medal at Asian Games
New Delhi, Sept. 20 -- Keralam etched its name into the Asian Games history books after Vidarsa K Vinod has became the first female shooter from the state to win a medal at the continental showpiece on Sunday. Vinod was a part of the Indian women's 10 meter air rifle team that won silver, to open the country's medal haul in Aichi-Nagoya in Japan.
Besised the team event, Vinod is also competing in the women's 50m rifle 3 Positions event. This is Vinod's first-ever Asian Games. The Indian trio of Elavenil Valarivan, Sonam Maskar, and Vinod combined for a total of 1898.0 points to finish second behind China (1904.2). Japan (1897.1) took bronze.
