New Delhi, Aug. 17 -- Airtel Payments Bank is undergoing a leadership transition -Shabnam Sinha will succeed Sunil Mittal as the Chairperson of Airtel Payments Bank from 1 October 2026, an exchange filing by the parent firm, Bharti Airtel, said on Monday.

Sunil Mittal, founder and chairman of Bharti Enterprises, will conclude his tenure as non-executive Chairman and step down from the board, effective 30 September 2026. He has served as chairman since Airtel Payments Bank was appointed in April 2016.

"Under his leadership, the Bank grew to become India's largest payments bank by revenue, with a strong presence across both consumer and enterprise businesses," the release further said.
