New Delhi, April 9 -- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Assam and warned of wet spells in northern, eastern and north-eastern states on 9 April. Furthermore, hot and humid weather conditions are expected in southern states on Thursday.
"Day temperatures are likely to remain below normal to near normal over most part of northwest, central & east India during next 3-4 days," IMD said in its latest weather bulletin. However, Maharashtra can expect gradual rise in maximum temperatures by 2-3degC till 11 April and no significant change during 12 to 14 April.
