New Delhi, Aug. 31 -- US stocks slipped on Monday as renewed military strikes between the United States and Iran sent crude oil prices higher, reviving concerns that rising energy costs could add to inflationary pressures.

At 09:54 a.m. the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 350.75 points, or 0.65%, to 53,209.24, the S&P 500 shed 30.49 points, or 0.40%, to 7,681.27, and the Nasdaq Composite lost 77.11 points, or 0.29%, to 26,325.31.

At the open, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 97.4 points, or 0.18%, to 53,462.6. The S&P 500 fell 14.2 points, or 0.18%, to 7,697.52​, while the Nasdaq Composite dropped 43.9 points, or 0.17%, to 26,358.559.
