New Delhi, June 25 -- The US Supreme Court has handed the Trump administration two major immigration wins, allowing it to end protections for hundreds of thousands of migrants and potentially revive restrictive asylum policies at the US-Mexico border. The 6-3 rulings strengthen executive authority over immigration while sharply limiting judicial oversight.

In its Thursday rulings, the Court:

-Allowed the administration to end Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for migrants from Haiti and Syria

-Opened the door for ending protections covering about 1.3 million people from 17 countries

-Permitted revival of a controversial "metering" asylum policy that limits how many migrants can apply at border crossings each day
