New Delhi, May 18 -- Unified Payments Interface (UPI) remains the most preferred mode of payment in India for its speed, convenience and wide acceptance across merchants and individuals. Its share in digital transactions rose from 65% in 2024 to 67% in 2025, according to the How India Pays 2025-26 report by Phi Commerce, showing the growing dependence on instant bank-to-bank transfers.
