New Delhi, June 17 -- US President Donald Trump lavished praise on Prime Minister Narendra Modi during their bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in Evian-les-Bains, France, describing the Indian leader as a respected global statesman and reaffirming the close ties between Washington and New Delhi.

During the interaction, Trump used a series of personal compliments to highlight his admiration for PM Modi's leadership.

"He is the most beautiful man, like an angel. He is a killer, he is a tough man. He loves Indian people and also loves US people," Trump said.
