The role of bridge bearings in India's expanding railway corridor network
New Delhi, June 16 -- According to reports, Indian Railways is undergoing its largest modernisation phase in over 150 years. This acceleration is backed by an expenditure of approximately Rs. 2.72 lakh crore in the latest financial year. As India pushes ahead with its railway modernisation plans, approval by the Union Cabinet for three big multitracking projects on railway routes is another move toward improving India's logistics infrastructure. These three projects, namely the Nagda-Mathura 3rd and 4th Line, the Guntakal-Wadi 3rd and 4th Line, and the Burhwal-Sitapur 3rd and 4th Line, cover a distance of well over 900 kilometres altogether. This will also be among India's busiest rail corridors in the coming years.
