New Delhi, Aug. 7 -- At least one teacher was killed, and four others were reported injured at a school in Thailand's northern Bangkok region on Friday (local time) after a student allegedly opened fire, police said.

Lt Col Pasakorn Chaitawiwong, head of the Plai Bang subdistrict police department, confirmed the casualties and added the suspected gunman committed suicide, taking the death toll to two. Among those injured were one teacher and three students, Reuters reported.

The incident occurred in the Bang Kruai district of Nonthaburi province. While police identified the suspect as a student, they did not provide any further details.
