New Delhi, Aug. 21 -- Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has been denied permission by the Centre to visit the USA, the CMO said on Friday.

Reddy, who is in London currently, has planned to visit the US and return to Hyderabad on August 30.

The Ministry of External Affairs, which had been approached by the state government for clearance for the Chief Minister's official visit to the UK and the US, approved only the UK leg of the tour.

The State government was informed of the denial of permission for the US visit after the official delegation had already reached the UK. The MEA cited denial of clearance from the "political angle."
