New Delhi, Oct. 23 -- Union Minister Pralhad Joshi on Thursday held discussions with Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran on aligning India's higher education system with industry needs, with a focus on innovation, research and sustainable development.

The meeting in New Delhi provided an opportunity to discuss how higher education institutions could work more closely with the industrial sector and equip students with knowledge and skills relevant to India's growth.

Joshi said Chandrasekaran's "vast leadership experience in the industry sector and management education field provided extremely valuable insights aimed at further empowering India's higher education system."
