New Delhi, May 25 -- The Indian stock market opened higher on Monday, following upbeat global market cues, as hopes of a US-Iran peace deal boosted investor sentiment.

The Sensex jumped 720.47 points, or 0.96%, to open at 76,135.82, while the Nifty 50 opened 220.95 points, or 0.93%, higher at 23,940.25.
