Stock market today, Sept. 17 -- The Indian stock market benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty 50, are expected to open flat on Thursday, 17 September, amid mixed global cues.

The Gift Nifty Live Chart shows a muted start for the Indian stock market today. By 7:19 AM, the Gift Nifty was trading around the 23,225 level, a discount of 47.3 points from the Nifty futures' previous close of 23,272.30.

The domestic equity indices ended higher in the previous session, with the benchmark Nifty 50 closing above 23,200 level.

The Sensex rose 332.63 points, or 0.45%, to close at 74,336.45 , while the Nifty 50 settled 99 points, or 0.43%, lower at 23,217.60.
