New Delhi, Aug. 28 -- The Indian stock market benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty 50, are likely to open on a flat-to-negative note on Friday, 28 August, tracking weak cues from global markets.

The Gift Nifty also indicated a muted start for domestic equities. It was trading around 24,266.5, at a discount of 15.4 points to the previous close of Nifty futures.

In the previous session, the domestic equity markets ended lower, with the Nifty 50 slipping below the 24,100 mark.

The BSE Sensex declined 539.35 points, or 0.70%, to settle at 76,933.59. Meanwhile, the Nifty 50 fell 116.90 points, or 0.48%, to close at 24,090.85.
