Stock market holiday, Aug. 23 -- Investors may be wondering if the BSE and NSE will be open for trading on Friday, August 28, on account of Raksha Bandhan. As per the official BSE holiday calendar, the stock exchanges will remain open, as no trading holiday has been declared for the festival.

According to the holiday calendars of the BSE and NSE, trading will remain open across the Equity, Equity Derivatives, Currency Derivatives, NDS-RST and Tri Party Repo segments on 28 August.

As per the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) holiday calendar, commodity trading will also be operational on Raksha Bandhan.

Around six trading holidays are scheduled for the Indian stock market during the remaining months of 2026.
