Smart investment or monopoly? Woman's Rs.20 crore parking space bet sparks legal feud in China
New Delhi, Oct. 11 -- A calculated real estate investment by a woman in China who bulk-purchased 196 parking spaces for nearly $2 million ( Rs.19.36 crore) has triggered severe backlash from neighbours after she drastically raised rental and sale prices.
The dispute over the parking spots, located in a residential community in Changsha, Hunan province, ultimately led to a lawsuit when disgruntled residents accused her of monopolising essential infrastructure, according to a report by the South China Morning Post.
