New Delhi, March 22 -- All seven people onboard were killed in a helicopter crash in Qatar's territorial waters, the interior ministry said on Sunday.

Qatar's Defense Ministry said the dead included four Qatari forces and three Turkish nationals, including a military officer and two civilians.

The defence ministry earlier said the helicopter had crashed after suffering a technical malfunction during "routine duty".

The interior ministry said that several specialised teams have been deployed.

According to a statement issued by the Turkish Ministyr of Defence, search and rescue operations were launched immediately after the crash, leading to the recovery of the wreckage and the bodies of those onboard.
