New Delhi, March 25 -- The Indian stock market benchmarks - Sensex and Nifty 50 - extended gains to a second consecutive session on Wednesday, March 25, a day after clocking a strong surge of nearly 2% each.
Sensex jumped by nearly 1,700 points, or 2.25%, to an intraday high of 75,736, while Nifty 50 rose over 500 points, or 2.3%, to the day's high of 23,435. The mid and small-cap indices on the BSE jumped nearly 3% each.
Investors' wealth rose by Rs.9 lakh crore as the overall market capitalisation of companies listed on the BSE rose to Rs.432 lakh crore from about Rs.423 lakh crore in the previous session.
