Scindia says satcom security clearance rests with Home Ministry, denies bias
New Delhi, Oct. 9 -- Communications minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Friday said that the decision on security compliance by satellite internet companies rests with the ministry of home affairs, adding that it is for the ministry to determine whether the companies have successfully met the security requirements.
Comments from Scindia came after Starlink, in New Delhi on Wednesday, said it has built its operations specifically for India in recognition of Indian security requirements and other regulations, establishing controls at every layer for India and keeping Indian user data within India.
