Stock market today, April 22 -- Indian benchmark indices, the BSE Sensex and Nifty 50, faced significant selling pressure during intraday trading on Wednesday, April 22, following three consecutive days of gains.

The Sensex dropped by over 800 points, exceeding 1%, reaching an intraday low of 78,442, while the Nifty 50 fell by more than 200 points, almost 1%, to 24,353.
